The BST NIV Bible

BST Study Bible

I’m privileged to work for IVP, a confessional evangelical publisher that loves and values the Bible. Recently, we published a superb new edition, an NIV with study notes from the Bible Speaks Today (BST) series.

I don’t know about you, but I have aqquired, over the years of following Jesus, more than 20 physical bibles and plenty more digitally.

The one I keep coming back to is a soft, smallish but not too small ESV– except for when I forget it and use my phone!

My smallest Bible is a little brown NIV, given to my by my grandmother and grandfather at my Baptism.

Smaller than that is an Active Service New Testament, which I inherited from a relative who fought in the First World War.

My largest by far an interlinear bible, which has the English text alongside the original languages, and is intimidating, larger than any laptop I’ve ever owned and heavier than my newborn daughter!

When I’m preparing talks, blog posts or studying, it is really useful to have these bigger Bibles. My wife gave me a study Bible for my 21st Birthday, and I still use it regularly.

Today, though, I want to share briefly about the new BST NIV Bible. You probably know the Bible Speaks Today books – but this Bible gathers the most pertinent content from the three series – OT, NT and Thematic – alongside study questions for personal reflection or small group study.

  • It’s the perfect Bible for small group leaders, with backup and inspiration on every page.
  • It’s the perfect Bible for personal study, with trusted Bible teachers waiting for when you need it.
  • It’s the perfect Bible for new preachers, with practical and helpful notes ready and waiting for you to engage with.

The BST NIV Bible is out now – you can get a copy through the IVP website, elsewhere online, or from your local bookshop.
